Methamphetamine Cleanup and Decontamination Technician

This two day class designed to give attendees and overview of the procedures necessary to clean up general methamphetamine residue in residential structures.

Description

This 16 Hour Initial Training Class provides a general overview of the processes and procedures for cleaning and decontaminating residential structures contaminated with the residues associated with methamphetamine usage.  This class IS NOT intended for personnel that will be involved in the testing or decontamination of clandestine drug labs/meth production facilities. 

Attendees will receive classroom and practical instruction on the steps necessary so safely clean meth residue.  Safe work practices, record keeping, personal protective equipment, and small scale abatement procedures are examined in detail. This class includes hands-on exercises.

Prerequisites

40-hour HAZWOPER Training.  The course can be combined withthe Methamphetamine Decontamination Training class.

The 40-hour HAZWOPER initial training consists of the 24-hour operations level training plus an additional 16 hours of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on training. The HAZWOPER site worker level course will provide you with the training required by OSHA to respond to hazardous substance releases. Emphasis is placed on protecting persons, property, and the environment from the effects of a hazardous spill or release.

This 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher course provides attendees with their required annual training update and meets the requirements of OSHA CFR 1910.120. All attendees must have completed a 24 or 40 hour HAZWOPER course.

The 24-hour operations level training is designed for workers on regulated sites who have limited exposure to hazardous substances, but may still participate in clean-up activities.
